Mission: Our life as Secular Franciscans are:

Mission:

Secular Carmelites (OCDS) is an association of lay faithful who undertake the pursuit of avangelical perfection in the world and to be witnesses in the world to live the value of the Gospel in a spirit of the beautitudes. The Christian life of the members are inspired and nourished by the spirituality and guidance of the Teresian Charism.

1. To live a life both contemplative and apostolic                     2. To carry into the world the distinctive witness of Carmel, "The Lord of Host lives, before whom I stand" (1 Kings 17:1)

Mission:
The purpose of the community is four-fold:
1. To help members live a fervent life and witness in the ordinary situation of their lives, families and occupations.
2. To be of service and work in harmony with the overall pastoral plan of the Archdiocese, contributing to the animation of BECs and parochial activities where appropriate.
3. To carry out a work of evangelisation and sanctification and the apostolate of like towards like.
4. To encourage its members to participate in spiritual ecumenism and other ecumenical activities, when circumstances permit, under the guidance of the church.
