Exhortation of the Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur Be A responsible citizen
It was recently reported in the media that nearly 4.9 million eligible citizens have not registered as voters. It is the duty of citizens to contribute along with civil authorities to the good of society in a spirit of truth, justice, solidarity and freedom. The love and service of one's country follow from the duty of gratitude. Concern for the common good requires citizens to fulfill their role in the life of the political community. Co-responsibility for the common good make sit a moral obligation to exercise the right to vote We urge you; to be ready to exercise that right to vote. Take that first step, if you have not already done so, by registering yourself as a voter. If you have already registered, it may be good to check and verify your status. Your involvement in public and political life means so much to the country (and also the church). It is your little but important contribution as a (Christian) citizen to the common good of our nation. - Posted by Herald
