New Year Message Jan 01 2008

To all dear parishioners of St Joseph, greetings. Wishing you a blessed and joy filled New
Year. We remember,
we rejoice and we live Jesus' presence in Sentul. This day we
celebrate 99th New
Year here in this parish church. 99 years have passes so quickly. Many
people have passed
through the doors of this church and experienced his presence.
Numerous baptisms,
confirmations, Sacraments of Christian Initiation, marriages,
ordinations, anointing
of the sick and funerals were celebrated.
This year, unlike previous years is special. We are preparing intensely to mark the centenery
of our parish. One
hundred years of its existing is certainly something to be reckoned
with. The centenery
of our parish is not something that we can ignore or consider it to be
least important.
The centenery is indeed a God given moment particularly to us who
constitute the parish
community. It is a rare privilege to be a parishioner of St Joseph,
Sentul aroung this
time. It is a once in a life time experience.
Let us therefore commit ourselves totally wherever possible to make the centenery our
own. Let us get
involved in all the activities proposed to celebrate the centenery more
meaningfully. Let
us not forget the four pivotal areas of concern: 1. Jubilee fund, 2. Inter-
religious dialogue,
3. Strengthening BECs, and 4. History and heritage (commemorative
magazine).
At this junture all I ask you is your kind support in all proposed programme of the
centenery of the
parish. Let us show our gratitude to God who is showering his blessings
upon us. Our involvement
in the centenery of the parish is our loving response to God who
loves. Let us spread
God's love and presence through our BECs and parish programme.
Let us work together.
Gathering together is an effort. Working together is a progress. Living together is victory.
Once again a blessed and joy filled New Year to you and your families.
